2018 Downeast Challenge
Welcome to the 2018 Downeast Challenge Information page.

Downeast Challenge, sponsored by Rumson's Rum & Rising Tide Brewery, is an exciting overnight full moon sailboat race of 100 nautical miles from Marblehead, MA to Boothbay Harbor, ME. This is a great way to quickly get to Maine for cruising.  Starts Friday, July 27 in Marblehead and finishes on Saturday July 28 in Boothbay Harbor. Skippers & crew welcome to complementary Rumson Rum's tasting at the MYC skippers meeting (T-shirts available), and complementary Rising Tide Beer at the Awards party at Hodgdon Marina in Boothbay. Early Registration by July 20! 

In Marblehead:  MYC will accommodate out-of-town boats with complementary guest moorings or rafting with free launch service, on July 26.  The MYC is located in the historic Marblehead and a short walk to restaurants and shops, including Shubies grocery store. Guests are welcome to dine at the MYC (BYOB). All skippers and crew are welcome to the Rum tasting sponsored by Rumsons Rum 6pm-8pm on July 26 at the skippers meeting. 

In Boothbay: Please make a reservation with Hodgdon Marina in Boothbay Harbor and mention you are with Downeast Challenge for discount. They have dockspace (may require rafting) and moorings.
