Final Updates

LCR Competitors,

After meeting with PRO Mont Echols, there are a few changes to the instructions...

1) SYC Appendix B4 (suffix "N" - separate start & finish lines) will NOT be used for the Open division.  For the Open division, the start/finish mark will also be the leeward rounding mark for W/L courses.

2) The Open division classes A & B will all start together.  The class breaks have been adjusted for Leukemia Cup scoring only.  The HC Fall Series class breaks will remain for scoring the series.

3) The Classic division spinnaker & non-spinnaker classes will all start together approximately 10 minutes after the Open division start.

4) The Classic division will use the same starting mark as the Open division, but they will use a different finish mark set behind the starting line as specified by the RC via prestart hail.

Virtual Skippers Meeting

LCR competitors,

Thank you for entering the 2020 Diliberto Law Firm Leukemia Cup Regatta presented by Blue Cross Blue Shield of Louisiana and iBERIABANK.

This email will serve as the skippers meeting...

1) Mont Echols is PRO and will be using PATROL II as the RC signal boat.  If there are any late changes, they will be communicated in accordance with the NOR & SI.  Please monitor VHF 72.

2) The earliest time to begin racing is 1030 hours.  This is a 30 minute delay from what was originally published in the NOR.

3) The intent for the Open Division is to sail two (2) races on a W/L course and we will probably use an OFFSET MARK at the weather mark.  The Classic Division will sail one (1) race on a steeplechase course as determined by the RC.

4) The start and finish line arrangement will likely be split per SYC Appendix B4 - suffix "N" - which uses a green start-only mark and a separate orange (or fixed) rounding/finish mark.

5) If you paid the optional $100 donation upon registering, then you will receive a gift bag and a virtual ticket to the online party and concert Saturday evening.  You can pick up your packet at the Registration Desk at SYC, either before racing, 0830-1000, or after racing, about 1400-1600.

6) All racers are eligible for Leukemia Cup Regatta trophies.  Class and division trophies will be distributed at the Registration Desk following racing, about 1400-1600.  Skippers and crew receiving trophies are invited to appear for photographs.

Please email me with any questions and I will distribute a reply.

Fair winds,
